Hey, I’m Shae

What I do

I am a Qualified Sex and Relationship Therapist registered as a member of COSRT, a professional body regulating therapists in this field. I qualifed with a Diploma in Clinical Sexology and Relationship Therapy from the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology in January 2024. I did my psychosexual therapist placements at 56 Dean Street & TransPlus for over a year, and the low cost service SexTherapyHerts for 6 months.

You can enquire here about starting therapy sessions with me. The wait is around 1-2 months for a slot.

Although I spell out a bit more about myself below, it is important to say that just because you might have a differing identity to mine, that does not mean we can’t work together. I work with an array of people with differing identities and experiences, and you can learn more about how I work on my Specialities page and in the FAQs.

Who I am

  • I am Queer

  • I am Trans and Gender Queer

  • I am Disabled (EDS and hearing impairment)

  • I practice Ethical Non-Monogamy (ENM)

  • I am Neurodivergent

  • I have been part of the kink community for 10+ years

  • I am an immigrant

  • I am an Activist.

I’m an appointed member of the Trans Advisory Panel at the charity Not A Phase.

The main influences for me in becoming a sex and relationship therapist were:

  • Wanting to understand my own relationships, with myself and others, and discovering who I am and what I need as a person with the above identities. Having my own sex and relationship therapist opened doors to a world that I didn’t know I needed. It is a privilege to have that experience and find something that I am so passionate about doing for myself and others.

  • My background of over ten years as an organiser for various sex and queer positive events. Running workshops on consent and communicating boundaries, facilitating support groups, moderating difficult conversations and accountability processes, and learning how people navigate pleasure and relationships led me to want to make something similar into my job.

I am constantly learning and adapting with regular continued education in the areas I specialise in.

I am also open to speaking at events or on podcasts, writing for publications or working on longer-term projects - if you think I might be a good fit for your project, contact me!
